Melanie Westwood

Melanie is a Consultant Solicitor with 15 years of experience advising on family law issues relating to divorce, financial arrangements on separation and arrangements for children.  She also deals with emergency applications in relation to domestic violence and keeping children safe.

Melanie drafts cohabitation agreements for couples who wish to live together and regulate their financial arrangements, such as who is paying which bills and what would happen if they later separated. She can prepare pre- and post-nuptial agreements for couples who wish to protect assets in the event of a future divorce.

Melanie often represents clients at their first hearings at Court and she enjoys putting her clients’ cases forward to the Court.

Melanie offers calm, realistic, no-nonsense advice and she is a member of Resolution, a community of professionals who approach family law issues in a non-confrontational and constructive way.

The majority of Melanie’s work comes from referrals from family, friends and colleagues. She likes keeping up to date with the latest developments in family law and in her spare time she enjoys playing the violin, spending time with her family and being outdoors.
